Hi Sir/Ma'am:
I bought a mac mini in May 2012. It came with Lion. I hook it up to a Dell monitor via HDMI adapter to DVI. Recently, I hook it up to a Samsung 40' TV via HDMI. It started giving me shut down problems. Every other time when I click shut down, it will pause for a few seconds, then it grey screen showed up and said, "To shut down please press the power button." It said that in 5 different languages. Then I pressed the power button. Next time I boot up the mac mini it will say the machine didn't shut down properly, it'll ask me to either send a report or ignore the problem. This problem occurs not every time, though. Therefore, I put Mountain Lion on there, the same problem happens. Then I put windows 7 on it, no problem. It shuts down fine.
Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
Cliff
