Iphoto on MacBookProp imports non-chronologically

Hi when I import images from my canon EOS into Iphoto on my MacBookPro the images do not import chronologically (which I know they used to/should). Is there a sorting option to change this? Could the issue be with my camera? I have been hesitant to update to the new Iphoto as every time I have updated in the past my photos have been reorganized in bizarre ways.

Any advice would be welcome
