what's the best way (steps) to move some home folder contents to a separate drive? for example:

- is there a UI based approach to do this?
- if not is it just a matter of using symlinks to fool Lion into thinking they're on the primary drive but they're really on the 2nd drive

Some of the folders is my home area I'm thinking about here are: Movies, Pictures, Music...

Your Mac's Specs
Mac Pro 2 x 2.66 Xeon 6gb DDR2 1TB OSX Server
In terminal you can do

Code:
cp -r ~ /path/to/new/drive/here

will copy everything from your home directory to your new drive. You may need to change ownership and or permissions with chown and chmod to be able to read and access them from say another account. Hopefully this is a start to answering your question.
