Is there a way to set up a completely custom keyboard shortcut for a string of letters?
Basically, while working in Plain Text, I'd like to be able to highlight a word or words, key in a shortcut, and be able to paste HTML tags around the highlighted word?
I'm familiar with BBEdit, a TextEdit-like program that does this (and a whole, whole lot more), but it's also more than I need.
Alternatively, I'd even be interested to know if there's a way to set up a customized keyboard to paste "<b>" on one end of a word or phrase and then another keyboard shortcut to paste "</b>" around the end of the word or phrase - but I can't seem to find a way to do that through TextEdit either.
Help!
