Syncing/Restoring from iPod to iTunes

Hi-

I recently managed to erase my entire iTunes library (sigh). I have the library on my iPod currently. Is there any way of transferring/syncing the songs located on the iPod back to iTunes?

Drag and drop doesn't seem to work... Do I need some software in order to do this (preferably something that works easily and is free).

Well actually you should be able to just get them off your iPod .When you connect you iPod , go to file at the menu bar and go down to transfer purchases from iPod. that did it for me . (NOE THIS WILL ONLY WORK WITH SONGS PURCHASED FROM ITUNES.
