Connection Timeout MB 13

I have an old mid 2007 macbook 13.. and I cannot seem to get it connected to my router through airport. It always stalls with a connection timeout error. I can however successful connect it wirelessly to my iPhone via tethering... through airport... :Confused: Anybody have any ideas what might be going on? Thanks
