Help with Monster iCable

Hello,

I just got a Monster Cable to connect my MacG4 to my stereo.

When I plug the cable into the phono and play a song in iTunes I do hear something but I can't really call it music. It sounds like a song with a ton of buzzing and distortion. Can barely tell what song is playing.

Any ideas of how I can make this work? My stereo just too old (1994)?

Sorry, I don't know what a Monster Cable is, do you have a link?

If your G4 has a headphone jack then you just need a normal headphone to red/white cable (sorry, don't know the technical words) to go between the two...

"Select the AUX input on your receiver. You can use any audio input on the back of the receiver that is not currently being used by a different device except Phono. Because this cable uses the headphone jack you will want to make sure that the volume is turned up on the iPod."

Got somewhere else you can plug it in?

Just phono, speakers (needing bare red and black wire), and video MD whatever that is...

If your stereo has Aux or CD or VCR inputs use those. Any line level input should work. Phono is not line level.
What stereo (brand, model) do you have?

Yeah, the phono input won't work...
