cannot just schedule a disk repair?

There was a power outage... and the hard disk might be a little bit corrupted (or do they make the hard disk corruption resistance by writing the data first and then the index later)...

however, the repair disk is dimmed for the primary drive... (Mac mini probably has just one drive)... so it seems I need to find the Mac OS X disc to do a disk repair? Doesn't it has a mode to "Schedule a disk repair when booting up next time?" Or maybe it is protected by a patent and so there is no such feature? Right now, I cannot find the disc...

Well that's hard luck. You'll need to contact Apple. Keeping the install discs to your Mac is like keeping the keys to your car.

If you know someone witht he exact same model Mac you have, you can use their discs.

20" iMac C2D 2.16ghz, 13" MacBook 2.0ghz, 60gb iPod vid, 1gb nano
You can reboot the computer, hold down Shift + S as soon as you start it up. You will come to a black screen with white text, once its done loading type in

/sbin/fsck -f

hit enter and it will repair the disk
