Hi,

This question isn't specifically about iMac, just couldn't find a better category to post it in.

I was wondering, does anyone know the answer to this question:

Do all intel-based Mac's (including older models) have DVD drives built-in?

Deciding whether I need to distribute some software on CD's, or if I can use DVD's only.

Thanks,
Andrew

Intel Mac models - both portable and desktop have a built in drive that can at least read DVD media. The lone exception here might be the MacBook Air which uses an external drive.

Regards.

chscag is correct, every Intel Mac with the exception of the Macbook Air has a built in DVD drive.

I would say they all at least have a Combo Drive, probably a SuperDrive in most. Even old G4's have them, so Apple was pretty ahead of technology.
