Hi Everyone,

Was having some trouble with my powermac g4 not booting into OSX so formatted the hard disks and re-installed it back to OS9.

Now I am trying to upgrade back to OSX and every time the system restarts and boots off the OSX CD or when I run the installation software the system comes up with a "please restart your computer message in multiple languages"

Then when i restart it comes up with the same message again.

Any ideas the system used to work in OSX fine?

What OS X DVD are you using? Retail DVD - no problem. Gray original install/restore - ONLY WORKS with correct model Mac.

Hi using the retail version not the version bundled with a computer. I managed to do the update when I originally updated from OS9 so not sure why it is not working now

And what do you mean 'update'? Firmware update, software update, OS X update or OS ( update?
