Cell/Phone PDA question

I'm finally upgrading to a new cell phone , instead of using my old school beaten up samsung. I'm looking to find a good phone that is also a good PDA. From what I've heard, you can link these phones up to your computer and do alot of syncing with other programs. However it seems like most of them are really PC formatted only. Can anyone reccomend a good cell phone/PDA that works well with a MAC? (anything excluding the iphone, as i cannot affford it.

i am a blackberry fan my self and to sync it i use pocketmac syncmanger.

with that being said i believe palm or any smartphone running windows mobile can be synced through the missing sync program.
