finder icons overlap

hi all

if i open a window with large icons with icon view the icons are so big they overlap on eachother, so that i can't see the text for the file/folder name. any way to fix this?

15" Powerbook G4 • 24" iMac • iPhone 3Gs
Navigate to: yourname/Library/Preferences/

and find com.apple.Finder.plist and drag it to your desktop.

Do a restart and if everything is working fine, delete that file off of your desktop.

didn't seem to work. this is what i am seeing. this was when i dragged a file into finder and used the springloader hover method to navigate.

Did you try keeping the icons arranged by name or kind, etc.?

That's the way I keep mine... Doubleclick on a folder to open it. In the Finder menubar go to View -> Show View Options and select an order you want the icons to show up. That should force them to keep a place and tidy up your windows. See attached screen capture below...
