Over the years, I've switched computers and kept old ones running for some stupid reason. Even stupider, I haven't kept one iTunes library going. I've been using a particular machine with a particular iPod and adding songs here and there.
Is there an easy, effective way to consolidate 4 or 5 libraries into one and eliminate the duplicates?
I'd like to keep Van Halen's "Dance the Night Away" from the original CD and also from their Greatest Hits CD but I don't want two copies from the same CD.
Is this too much to be asking?

Not at all, from one of the top bars (I believe 'View') there is a button that says "Show duplicates". I think it shows both the original and duplicate, so be careful not to delete all of them, just cntrl+shift click and select to delete which ones you want gone. :)
