Macbook Pro ejects install disk. Cant go to safe mode!

Hi, i have just replaced my harddrive on my Macbook Pro 10.4.11.
I cant go to safe mode beacuse it ejects the install disk a few moments after i put it in and I cant start up my computer nor can i go to safe mode.
-Any advice?

what do you mean? why are you trying to go into Safe Mode? you need to hold down C at start up and boot from the CD.

2003 Powerbook G4, 768 mb's of ram 120gb hard drive, 17 inch dvd burner, or Superdrive
what do you mean? why are you trying to go into Safe Mode? you need to hold down C at start up and boot from the CD.

This and once it boots off the install disc, use disk utility to properly format the new harddrive.

I just replaced the harddrive. I have tried holding down C but it ejects the install disk.

Is the CD grey or black? Is it pirated or legit?
