Activating use of iPod as a hard disk

Does anyone knows how to activate the use of the 2nd generation Touch as a hard disk? Everytime I connect it to the computer, the iPod is recognized as a camera and I tried to find an option to change that in iTunes but unfortunately I had no luck.

I think you need to upgrade iTunes.

I don´t think its that. I´ve actually just installed the latest version of itunes last week.
