Hi! I might be considered a newbie for fonts if they are the problem. So, please, be patient.
I've got one of the first Intel MacBook Pro. First with Leopard, then I upgraded it to Snow Leopard. Before, I somehow never attempted to print anything directly. Always through Unix or Linux systems. Now I need to print my files directly from my MacBook but I found out that I can't get a perfect output on any (HP) printer. I tried with HP Color Laser CP1025 and the Mac printer for it.
It does not print out ps or pdf files correctly. For instance, big dots in a a PS file produced by Mathematica are missing, "ff" in the text causes lines to stretch out, etc. Then I tried with HP Color Laser 3600. There garbage lines are added over particular text. For example over Abstract in a pdf file. Then I tried HP black/white laser 1200. There "ff" are shortened and lifted up, only upper part of greek letters is preinted, etc.
Can anyone help me? I'll obediently write in anything that is needed to obtain relevant information about my system. I can start with some information:
ver. 10.6.7, Processor 2.6 Intel, Kernel Version: Darwin 10.7.0,
SDKs:
Mac OS X:
10.5: (9L31a)
10.6: (10M2518)
Printing does not report any error. Log is here:

I googled for days and did not find anything like it.
