Hi Everyone!
New to the forums and apologize if this has been brought up before.
I am having a rather odd problem that showed up unexpectedly today. It had been running fine.
I have a PowerMac G5 2.0 Ghz Dual processor unit, 3 Gb Ram, 200 Gb HD.
Today, I received a Kernal Panic when I double clicked my Mac HD icon on the desktop. I restarted and it worked fine for about 5 minutes then KP'd again when I launched disc utility. Restarted again and same thing when I tried to open system preferences. Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. I have reset the PRAM, opened the case and made sure the RAM was tight, even swapped the HD. I booted from my Leopard disc and got the dreaded KP twice while attempting to install on the new HD. Any ideas would be great as I'm a little perplexed by this. Here is a copy of the KP Report. Thanks for any input!

You should run Apple Hardware Test - I think it is on your original Install DVD #2 - Additional Software and A.H.T.

Thank you for the advice.
All test passed. I even went it to single user mode and tested the RAM. No problems reported. I have started removing devices from the machine to see if any of those may be the culprit. The KP's have reduced in frequency but are still happening. I suspect I may have a bad RAM module even though every test I've thrown at it has passed. I think I'm going to start removing a pair of RAM modules every time I get a KP. I'll get to the bottom of this! LOL It's slowly driving me insane!

Swap out the modules to make sure. However, that many KPs while doing just about "anything" could be indicative of a malfunctioning logic board. The Powermac Dual G5 machines run fairly hot as it is.

Let us know.

Well, I've got my fingers crossed. I bought 6 Gigs of RAM today and installed it in my Mac. So far so good. There have been no KP's since installing the new RAM this afternoon. Time will tell but I've got a pretty good feeling it was a faulty RAM module.
Thanks for your input!
