Loading Boot up problem 2011 iMac w/ Lion

I start the iMac 2011 with Lion, and it loads for a bit, then I get a (\) think along with the loading circle after a bit of waiting . What does that mean...?
Thanks in advance!!!It looks like a circle with a angled line going through it

It means it can't find your startup drive or it won't boot from your startup drive. Hold down your Option key and reboot. You should see two selections on the screen after a bit: One will be your MacIntosh HD, the other will be the Recovery Partition. Are you seeing that? If you are, select the MacIntosh HD and press enter. It should boot from it if the drive is OK. If not, post back.

It didn't work...And yes I followed your instructions. Thanks for the support(no sarcasm)
