And Macrumors believes the number of ipads sold to date is 524262. If this is true or just them making up false rumours again, I dunno.

Nope mine had lots yesterday over 10 picked a 32 up for my kid.

And why would you pick up a 32GB ipad for your child when you only own a 16GB yourself. According to your Mac specs under your avatar picture? I'd have thought you'd have kept the 32 and given your "kid" the 16. This makes no sense.

Unless your "kid" paid for it. That'd be different.
ANd this was posted at 3PM yesterday local time. So that could be after you went (if you went at all) to best buy.

I was surprised that on launch day at 2:00 pm the Best Buy where I live still had over 25 left, from 16 to 64 gig, so I bought a 32 gig. When I called them the next day they said they were sold out and got 5 in that morning, all sold, but weren't sure when they would get more.

I picked my up release day at closing time. Last one, 32gb. Salesclerk said more will be in Sunday for the start of the week. Our store only got 20 units.

I sold it today.

There were plenty at the Best Buy in Honolulu and enough at the Apple Store in the Ala Moana shopping center. The iPad is a short-lived fad. If it were really that hot, it would be sold out like the Xbox 360 and PS3 at the time of their introduction. In a month, the interest in the iPad will wane, and then you'll see them sold at Costco, at a discount. Like most things in life, toys and other devices turn into commodities once the initial hype subsides. ** hum, after my 5th day of ownership. I still assert that a laptop, either Windows or Mac OS based, is far more useful than a tabby toy.
