yesterday my macbook 4.1 photo of my fireplace mantel and the screen broke, don't ask lol. I was thinking about getting a new MacBook Pro because right now I can get 18 months interest free plus I get some money off for being a student. I was talking to a friend that is in It and he said that he would recommendupgrading to I believe it is 528 of flash storage. My question is I see that right now they have the exact same model only is refurbished unit and it says that it was originally released in July of 2012. Would that be the most current model with the most current processor or is that a generation before what is previously available?

The Mid-2012 MacBook Pro's are the most current unless your talking about the Retina MacBook Pro. A new lineup of MacBook Pro's is coming soon with the new Intel Haswell processors. I'm content with Ivy Bridge(The current MacBook Pro's) So I bought a 13".

June 2012 Retinas are the "older" model. the early 2013 Retinas are the latest. The only difference I see with the next gen of retinas are Haswell processors, which will have better integrated graphics cards and will have a lot better battery life. the 2013 macbook airs have up to 12 hours of battery life because of the Haswell processors.

The newer ones coming out will probably have 802.11ac and longer battery life if they spec out like the rest of the Haswell bench tests possibly Thunderport 2.

I have had this thing for a month and it is amazing. SSD is perfect, it amazes me how fast it boots up. No problems with anything thus far, my only complaint (and it is a small one) is the power charging chord does not seem to attach as securely as the one did on my 4,1 but that is a non issue really.
