I have a new Mac pro. I have it in a cabinet with doors. I normally put it to sleep.
I normally do not close the doors. Yesterday my wife closed the doors and the cabinet heated up significantly. My question. Is there a way to put it in a “deeper” sleep so it does not generate heat or do I have to turn it off.

I may vent the cabinet if I have to but I would rather not.

Thanks in advance for your help.

The computer should not be generating any heat when the computer is asleep. Is it possible that she also hit the keyboard woke it up, then over time it went back to sleep and the residual heat stayed in the cabinet because it couldn't get out?

I am not sure I will have to investigate further.
