My 6 month old Macbook Air died. Mountain Lion.
The love of my life loaned me her Snow Leopard 10.6.8 Macbook Pro.
I can't transfer my files from Time Machine without upgrading her OS, which she doesn't want to do.
Is there a work around until the Mac Store completes the diagnosis and repair of my machine...?
Thanks in advance.

If you have another hard drive spare you could use carbon copy cloner to completely duplicate her drive.

Then you can upgrade her MacBook pro and use it for a week, and use the cloned drive to restore it exactly back to what is was when she gave it to you
