So I was looking at a few things with my new Touch (glad to finally have an actual iPod to call me own), and being concerned about draining the battery I found this article on how to turn it off:
http://tech.blorge.com/Structure: /2007/10/07/how-to-turn-your-ipod-touch-or-iphone-on-and-off/
And it indicates that turning on/off the device consumes a good bit of power, which after trying it once myself seems to be true to some degree. Has anyone else noticed this that can confirm it? I use it on my daily commute, and leaving it in standby for 8+ hours seems like it should be more of a drain than just turning it off.
I've also taken to turning off the wireless unless I'm using it to conserve power when it's in standby mode.
