Iphoto Trash

So I thuoght i moved all of my photos from iphoto to an external hard drive, and deleted the ones on my computer. However, it appears as if that did not work. Does anybody know how you can undo the trash in iphoto once you deleted. (I don't use the time machine feature which would be helpful

When you delete pictures in iPhoto they end up in the iPhoto trash.
When you empty the iPhoto trash they end up in trash on the dock.
As long as you do not empty the trash on the dock, you can re-import them in iPhoto.
