I'm debating helping a friend repurpose a mac pro 2008 into a home file/media server for a 5 person family who all use macbooks. Her family does a lot of photography and video with probably in the neighborhood of 6 - 8 TB files to share between them and a 7 TB itunes library to share as well. If anyone has done anything similar successfully I'd love to hear about your experience. I've already toyed around with sharing in lion client and wasn't impressed. Is lion server really any better?
