Does anyone know how to hide the download box in OS X ? Everytime I download a file the annoying box stays there in the background. Is there a way to get it to disappear when the download finishes ? or even better to get rid of it altogether ? I've done the obvious like checking preferences etc.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Apologies if this has been posted before. I did a seach, but it returned too many hits and I didn't have time to sift through them all.

Cheers

I assume you are talking about the one in Safari. If that is the case, the plug-in SafariStand adds the ability to close the download box after a set amount of time after download completion: 0 sec, 2 sec, 5 sec, 10 sec, 30 sec and 1 min.
