Error installing Windows XP on OSX

I have Snow Leopard and I attempted to install an older version of Windows XP on my Macbook. However, it will install and then reboot and then start over again and I cannot get back to OSX. Does anyone know what I should do? Is my hard drive toast?

Hold the option key down while booting to bring up the boot option menu.
