Can I charge iPod on iMac without syncing it?

It is a hassle for me to charge the iPod thru my sister's macbook since I am using it. So, I wonder if I could charge it through my iMac so I do not have to go to her room and back to my room to check my iPod downloads. But I do not want to sync it with my iTunes. I wonder if that'll work. Thanks!

Ummm yea, it'll work. If you don't launch iTunes (and don't have iTunes automatically launch when your iPad is plugged in).. Yep, the USB ports still provide 5v.
