Reformatting External HD to FAT32

I just bought a 500 GB USB 2.0 Seagate Slim for Mac hard drive, and I'm trying to get it to connect with a Samsung TV.

I was told by Samsung that I need to reformat the drive to "FAT32".

In Disk Utility, when I select the drive and go to "Erase", I am presented with the following Format options:

• Mac OS Extended (Journaled) <-- this option is selected
• Mac OS Extended (Journaled, Encrypted)
• Mac OS Extended (Case-sensitive, Journaled)
• Mac OS Extended (Case-sensitive, Journaled, Encrypted)
• MS-DOS (FAT)
• ExFAT

Since I am not an expert and therefore deathly afraid of all things hard drive and scary options like "Erase", I just wanted to check and get some advice on what to do here.

How do I go about formatting this drive to FAT32?

MS-DOS (FAT) is FAT32

Just make sure you select the "MBR" scheme along with MS-DOS (FAT-32) or that drive will not work with the Samsung TV.

Been awhile - think from the Partition tab - you need to click the advanced button to select MBR.
