How do you do this? I have the OS 3.0, but the option is not listed under the networks menu as detailed in Apples 'how to' instructions.

Thanks in advance

If you are using AT&T in the US, currently you can not tether without hacking. There are tons of guides for this online, but this forum's management frowns on providing instructions on how to violate Apple's license agreements, so you will have to use a bit of Google-fu.

Should be there.

EDIT: Sorry, this is how it is on O2 in England.

I tried it from Ireland on my father's O2 iPhone. It isn't listed in the preferences pan. Maybe it's not available in Ireland yet!! I'll have to check that out!!

For us Mac users in the US, this works, I'm using it to post this:

How to Turn on Tethering in iPhone 3.0 | Gadget Lab | Wired.com

I've tried it on both WiFi with my home network and on 3G. Both work quite well.

EDIT: resetting the iPhone seems to kill this. I had to re-upload the file to get it back after a reset.
