Don't know if it's a big deal or not but it's annoying. The optical drive on my imac g4 has been ejecting when i turn my computer on lately. Right when the apple logo comes up. Is there a fix for this?

Check your startup options for an application that may be running automatically when the system boots. Check the activity monitor also. You may have an app that's starting and it's looking for a DVD or CD. If it's not that, the drive itself may be malfunctioning.

Regards.

well, I figured it out. it must have something to do with the new mouse I got for my computer. I'm using a tablet with a mouse and if the mouse is on the tablet when I turn my computer on, the optical drive ejects. If I take the mouse off, everything's normal. go figure. Thanks for the suggestions though.
