I work at a production company that has oodles of video footage spread out over dozens of hard drives. A lot of this footage is just hanging out in storage, but occasionally we need to go back into the archives to pull out a specific clip.
What I'm wondering is if there's some kind of program that will allow me to plug in all the data on these hard drives so that if we ever need to look for an old piece of footage we won't have to waste time scanning through the plethora of files on all our drives. Basically I'm looking for some kind of indexing software. Anything that will let me run up a search for specific file names and tell me what drive they're on.
I've been searching around for a while now and have had no luck so far, so I'm hoping someone here might have an idea.
Thanks in advance.
