A friend just gave me a base station M8440 - but I have no idea how to run a diagnostic on the thing (it came without a power adapter). First off, anyone know what kind of adapter I need to power this thing?

Secondly, is it antiquated? I looked all over the web and couldn't even find specs for the adapter - I assume that this thing is from the cold war. Is it high-speed?

Thanks.

Well, I found an adapter for you... Link.

However, you need to dig around a bit for info. This unit will only do 802.11B and may not be fast enough for your use. It does have a built in modem and airport card.

The following eBay guide has some additional info regarding the unit which may be of interest to you:

Regards.
