Are you using command-f to open the find feature?

Try searching for 07/01/2012.

I have the same office version that you have and that is the way it formats dates.

Thanks for your response. I opened the Find feature with the Edit drop down menu. Am trying to update an old Excel worksheet that has dates entered as 7/1/12, and change them all to 1/1/2014. Tried entering 07/01/2012 in the find menu but it could not be located. Any other suggestions?

Click on one of the 7/1/12 cells and look at the formula edit (name?). Use what you see in there as your search text.

I formatted my cells to have 'm/d/yy' to match American date format, see Cell A1 in my attachment. However, the "formula edit" shows '2012/07/01'.

Searching for 2012/07/01 results in a hit. In your case, the "formula edit" will likely show a different format, but use whatever you see there in your search.
