External hard drive help

so i just got a new external and i am trying to instal it but so far its not working. the drive came with a driver but it doesnt help at all it tells me i need a decoder wich i have but it does not work i tells me there is an error on line xxx



shouldnt the drive work right out of the box?

ok well im stupid osx dosent need a driver but it still says it can not be modifyed
