I was wondering, since I put my imac in sleep mode when I am not using it, is there a way for me to put a password for everytime I wake up my mac. I just don't want people to have such easy access to my mac by just waking it up.

Yes you can. If you are running OS X, go to System Preferences, and click the security icon, and check the "Require password to wake from sleep or screen saver" box. This will use your Keychain password like it does with Admin access and when logging in.
