Apple tv works fine one day but not the next.

My Apple tv seems to decide when it will work and when it won't, am I doing something wrong? I do not understand why it works well one day but not the next.
Any tips will be welcome.

Apple TV.

I use the Apple tv via my iPod and watch itv when I can get connected, I get a little icon on my iPod when I open film on but as I said one day I get that icon and that then enables me to watch itv but another time I have no icon and am not able to connect, I have tried and tried but no luck.
