iPhone Mail Account keeps failing

The Mail account (incoming imap, outgoing smtp) works fine for a few days then just stops receiving/sending. Promptly delete mail account on iPhone (5) and recreate mail account - working again immediately for maybe a day or two then happens again. Is this an iPhone issue or the email provider ( ntlworld in the uk) or the phone service provider ( O2 in the uk). It's driving my girlfriend crazy and I get the flak. Any help appreciated.

It's more likely an issue with either your email provider or possibly the phone carrier. Without knowing exactly how the account is being setup each time, it's difficult to predict what the problem could be.

Thanks - will pursue with both - doesn't appear if others are having these problems...
