VLC problem

OSX10.9.0 MBA 2012 1.8Ghz/4Gb/128/ Iphone4/5S 16Gb
Lately all the movies i get say " use windows media player" i dont get this since i have the latest vlc version.... what should i do?

Have you tried opening them from the file menu in VLC?

and if they have DRM attached to them, they are not going to play in OS X.
