My Terminal is being weird, anyone seen this before?

This is what happens when i use the cursor keys to navigate/try to recall previous commands with the Up arrow:

I've tried this:

Look in your Home folder -> Library -> Preferences, and delete the file:

com.apple.terminal.plist

Next time you run Terminal, it will create the default preferences again.

Didn't change the cursor keys but did reset the bg colour.

Any ideas? This beats me :\

The keys have not been defined. Hopefully someone will come along with the key definitions that you are looking for.

Weird, I havent changed anything, I dont think i've ever had to use Terminal on this Mac.

Such odd characters will be printed if the current window is executing a program. From your screenshot, I don't actually see a prompt which could mean that an application is being executed. If you open up a new tab/window, do you see a prompt?

Strange, I left it a few days and the terminal looks normal now, with a prompt
