Phones seem linked?

Are you and your husband both using the same Apple ID? That's the first thing to look at; the second is "Settings" -> "Messages" -> "Text Message Forwarding" -> Should be nothing selected.
Also go on down to "Send & Receive" and check to see if your husbands phone number is listed here. If it is, remove the check.
I and my wife share the same Apple ID and messages. We don't mind getting each other's messages but that's just us. Everyone should decide that for themselves.
