Your Mac's Specs
2.0GHz, Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB DDR3 Memory, 500GB hard drive, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M
So before I take out my old HD I want to make it so that there is no information left on the HD after I take it out. I googled it and it something about Zeroing out the HD?

So before I take out my old HD I want to make it so that there is no information left on the HD after I take it out. I googled it and it something about Zeroing out the HD?

- open disk utility in the Utilities folder
- choose the HD you want to erase
- click on the "erase" tab
- then click on the "erase free space" button
- then choose zero out deleted files (1 pass), 3 pass, or 7 pass erase
