Hd Dvd To Macbook?

im getting my macbook on friday and i do have a pretty good collections of HI-DEF DVDs will i be able to rip it to my macbook because the macbook dont support HD DVDs CD on the drive so if it can rip it and i store it in the hd drive will it play it in HI-DEF format??

1) First question begging to be asked, are these HD DVD or Blu-Ray disk format, because you are not making it clear that they are HD DVD.

2) Since you already know that the MacBook drive cannot even read either one of these type of disks, the question of ripping them is moot.

3) Breaking of the encryption is considered illegal in the US, whose laws this forum goes by. And thus, such discussions are not allowed here.

will a xbox hd DVD player work so that I can plug it to the MacBook and play my hd dvds and that works what cable would I need ?? Thanks

I really don't think the 360 HD DVD player would work with a MacBook...

Yes...it is USB but that doesn't mean it will work on anything with a USB port...does it?

If I remember correctly, I think a few people were able to connect the 360's HD-DVD drive to a mac, and it was able to be used.

BUT, there isn't any software for the Mac to read HD-DVD or Blu-Ray movies, so doing so would be pointless.

HD DVD players use VC-1 encoded material which Mac OS's don't support so I don't believe it would work.
