Macbook getting sloppy, no OS Disk.

So.
I bought my macbook with OS 10.4 on it.
After quite a few years, it runs quite slow now, and a bit sloppy. I would like to buy a new one, but salvaging this one would work much better.
I have a spare hard drive which I have backed everything up onto. And am downloading the new snow leopard OS. I am going to try to burn these to a CD and then reformat. I have never done anything like this before on a Mac and any suggestions would be helpful. I can definitely see myself running into problems.

Well, the first problem is that there is no place to download a legal copy of Snow Leopard.

As such, you'll not get any help here with installing it as this forum is located in the U.S. and does follow U.S. law.

You can call Apple and request a replacement set of your original discs. I've seen reports of free to $20.
