iPod problem (iPhone 4)

I am experiencing a problem with the iPod part of my phone. Whenever I play a podcast the voice is echoing and has a hall type effect sound to it. I had the EQ turned off when it started doing it and I have changed to various other settings but it still continues. It doesn't do it with music, only talking voices. It does it with headphones in, plugged into my FM radio or using the phone speaker.

Any suggestions? Its very annoying.
