Cant get rid of certain songs on ipod

I have a few songs that I want to get off my ipod. My first thought was "well if they arent on my computer then they won't be on my ipod when it syncs". So I deleted the songs from itunes. Then after I synced with my ipod they were still there.

I then tried to restore the ipod. Yet they were still there. So i backed up my itunes library and reinstalled itunes and they were still there.

I'm sure there is some very easy solution to this, but so far I haven't found it. Thank you in advance for all of your help.

when your ipod is connected to Itunes select your ipod and then look for the songs you want off and delete them. hth.
