I'm using a Palm that's only compatible with Windows. I have XP on Bootcamp. The software requires a Com Port number for syncing. Presumably this is one of the USB connections at the back of the imac 21.5". So far I've tried 1 & 4 for the right hand of the 4 viewed from the back but am havinng no success. 4 is not recognised at all.

Does anyone have any ideas about this please.

Hello, I have a Palm Treo 650 phone and am running Palm Desktop through Snow Leopard with no problems - can you tell us what model Palm you are having trouble with?

Cheers :)

Palm

Not so up to date but suits me, it's a M505. I checked for Mac version but the Palm website states that there isn't one. To add to the complication I'm using Franklin software and they don't have a Mac version either.

Yes thanks I tried that but, when you highlight the Mac option, you get the following message:

Palm Desktop and HotSync Manager are not compatible with Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. Palm currently has no plans to release future versions of Palm Desktop and HotSync Manager for Palm OS. Customers do have options with third-party solutions such as The Missing Sync for Palm.

It doesn't look as if any of the Missing Sync for Palm websites cover the M505.

I am running Palm Desktop and Hotsync Manager through Snow Leopard as I've stated above, with no issues or problems that I can find.
I regularly sync my Treo using the USB cable.

Try it, you have nothing to lose.

Cheers :)

It's over a month since last interchange. What I hadn't realised was that, although the Palm website says that its software isn't compatible, the Mac download is still there. Quite why it says this I don't know.

I only discovered this today when looking at possible upgrades to my M505, happily now unnecessary.

It looks as if stuff on my calendar before June can't be recovered as its not on the PDA but I can get that from Bootcamp where I have it saved in Windows.

Thanks for your help.
