I'm completely stumped, and I'm not really seeing this issue being discussed too much when searching on Google. I'm obsessed with checking weather, it's pretty high on my priorities among checking email and RSS feeds. So this is really testing my nerves. :)

I'm having issues with the Safari weather extensions: 1-Click Weather for Safari by The Weather Channel and Cloudy. I prefer The Weather Channel extension being that icons are more detailed and plentiful.

For the sake of testing, I've installed both extensions. When I launch Safari, both icons display correctly. However, after closing the window of Safari and making a new window, none of the extensions refresh to display the correct weather nor temperature. The problem is only corrected, if I quit Safari and relaunch it.

So far, I've cleared out my cache, reset Safari, verified and repaired permissions, and deleted my .plist file with no result in sight. This happens on both my Macs. I know there are other options for checking weather, but in-browser extensions are my preferred means of checking the weather. :p

I'm going to test it from my end this evening. I have several other weather applets installed that I use which update correctly and provide good information, however, they're not Safari or any other browser extensions.

No go here either - testing only with TWCi. Updating only occurs on intitial opening of Safari. Once the window is closed and re-opened, no updating.

They have other issues with this extension also.

Removing the icon and adding it back to the toolbar does nothing - still no update.

If you head into Preferences, disable and re-enable, it will update... when it doesn't crash Safari, as in total shut down. I tried it a few times, crashed Safari 3 out of 8 times.

Yeah, same here. The extension definitely has problems. Back to my weather channel applet....

Thanks guys, appreciate you taking a shot at it. Looks like this is something Apple is going to have to fix, and no amount of troubleshooting will fix it.

Now, I need to figure what other weather app options to consider. :)

Have not done anything to it. But it's working here now. Yours?

Gave it another shot, but still nothing.

I actually am liking an app from the mac store called MenuWeather Lite. It's very nice and free!
