Can I Import a *.ppt/Presentation file into iDVD to make a slide show?

Can I Import a *.ppt/Presentation file into iDVD to make a slide show DVD?
Or do I have to start over from scratch? If there's a way to do this, I need a way to add text to the pictures in the slide show, and haven't figured out a way to do that outside of Windows...~(8^{)=....I'm running 10.4.11 with iWork 08 on a G4 Power PC.

Welcome to the Forum. Why not import your powerpoint into Keynote and then export it as a Quicktime movie - this is 09 as i recall 08 has that choice as well;
