Did they fix the sleep / battery problems?

I'm looking into getting one of the new MBPs, and I remember recently reading a forum post somewhere about how they would not turn off the fans and hard drive during sleep, which made the battery life really bad during sleep and whatnot. So I'd just like to know if these problems were fixed or if they're still around...
